Yesterday we went to Rebekah's swim class to see her swim. She is such a natural in the water. She wears her spedo and goggles and she looks adorable. She takes after her grandparents and of course her father as we all swam competitively. LOL

Last week Mike and I took Rebekah to Disneyland. It was sooooooo crowded but we had a great time anyway. Rebekah loved going on It's a Small World. She bounced to the music and patted our legs to the tune. So cute!

Friday night we went to Trunk or Treat with Rebekah. Of course, she didn't care a bit that we were there but I wanted to see her in her Lady Bug costume that Uncle Jeff & Aunt Amy gave her. She was a pro at it too. She literally ran from car to car. I am sharing some cute photos.

My Grandsons in China had their own Halloween party on Friday. They had about 20 children show up and they decorated cookies and played Halloween games. They had a blast. The security guards at their complex were quite shaken up by the whole event. They wanted to know what was taking place and what they would do. It all ended up fine.

Sean arrived home last night at 5 pm. The family was gathered at the bottom of the escalator at the John Wayne Airport and waited for what seem like forever. Little did we know that he was taking his time preparing himself for his return to normal life. We had the camera ready and we were holding up posters saying Welcome Home Elder Dailey. (We actually used the same ones for Patrick's return). Some people would say to us "he's coming" so we knew that he was actually on the plane.
I saw a missionary coming down the escalator. I knew this because of the suit and the name badge but I looked at him and said "but that is not Sean." When he was half way down we realized that it was Sean. He had a fake mustache on so we didn't recognize him. Then we busted up laughing. It was so funny.
Patrick got the first hug, I got the second. I didn't mind though. It's in those moments that I know that they really do love each other.
I am so happy to have Sean back home. He has changed so much. He said that he can't wait to get everything organized in his room. Isn't this a mother's dream? I love you Sean.

Elder Dailey is Home!

Grandma and Elder Dailey at the OC Airport

The first Elder Dailey made it home safe and sound. It was a very long day for him with all of his travels. He was up at 5 am and they left for the airport by 7. The flight was a grueling 10 1/2 hours long. He arrived in Atlanta, Georgia where he went through customs and had a 4 hour lay over. Then he boarded a flight to OC and arrived at 9:05. He was greeted by his 2 brothers, mom and dad and 1 grandma. Then we headed over to wait for his luggage and then on to the church building to meet with President Parker.
We heard from a very sweet, humble missionary who had many experiences that changed his life. He was so sad to have left England.
President Parker had all of us there share the blessings we received from his service and thoughts we had. It was a great evening.
We are so happy to have him home. He is trying to adjust to a non-missionary life and being in California and we are adjusting to having someone else in the house again. LOL

Sean will be home on June 9, 2010. Where have these 2 years gone? Sean has had so many incredible experiences on his mission so far. He promises he will tell us many stories that will be unbelievable but true. He has learned so much and his testimony has grown to great heights. Sometimes I wonder where he comes from. Is he really my child? LOL
I am so excited to see my boys, I mean my men again.
Only 31 days to go.

As his mission is nearly coming to a close we are excited and sad all at the same time. I know that he has the same feelings. We love receiving his emails showing us his growth, testimony and love for the gospel. He loves his mission and loves the people in England. He also loves his mission president (I am so grateful for this). We have loved hearing from those that he has touched on his mission. Having him serve has touched and blessed our lives so much. We look forward to his homecoming but will miss the blessings we receive from his service.

We had fun watching Rebekah hunt for Easter eggs. She was a little overwhelmed at first but soon figured out what was happening. She kept trying to watch her Daddy hide the eggs wondering what he was doing.
Jeff had his own little hunt for eggs as well. Each year we usually go to Aunt Michelle's where she has a egg hunt for the adults. Jeff was sad that he would miss it this year since we weren't going there. So I hid some eggs for him as well. He loved it. Too bad I forgot to take a picture.

We are so happy for Sean. All of his frustrations with being transferred have paid off. He found out why he was transferred to Mankato. It was to baptize Steve. He said that everything he has done on his mission has been worth it because of Steve. We love him so much and we are so proud of our missionaries.

Rebekah has had her 1st birthday. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. She truly is growing up so fast. We celebrated her birthday at a party at Chris & BobbiAnn's house. She was a little under the weather as she was cutting new teeth. That is so not fair on your birthday!

Mason's Baptism

Mason was baptized on December 29, 2009 in Salt Lake City Utah. We were so happy to be there and to be apart of this big step in Mason's life. When Isaac saw that Mason was getting into the font he decided that he was going to go in too. He started to try to take his clothes off so he could go in too. He just didn't understand.
Thank you Mason for deciding to get baptized in America instead of China.

It has been so long since I updated my blog. I was so busy with everything and then just not in the mood. But last Friday I watched Rebekah and took some new photos of her. They are really not the best but I am posting them just the same.
She is getting to be so fun. She can play now and I don't have to be walking her around trying to keep her happy while she is away from mommy. We really had lots of fun.

Baptism for Elder Dailey

Crystal was baptized on Saturday, August 15th. Sean and his companion Elder Saunders decided that it would be best for Crystal to be baptized by someone in the ward that she could get close to and have a connection with. So they asked the bishop to baptize her. Someone else in the ward was going to do the confirmation but was out of town so Elder Saunders did the confirmation.
Today, Missy O. was getting baptized too. She is a teenager whose family recently were reactivated and her younger brothers were already baptized last month. She wasn't ready until now.
So Missy told her dad on the day of her baptism and then 1 1/2 hours before the baptism she text her mom and said "I am getting baptized in 1 1/2 hours I hope to see you at the church.

Today our son Chris competed in his first sprint triathlon. He finished in 1 hr 40 min. We are so proud of him. He really worked hard to prepare himself for this day. It really was a fun day watching him compete.

Wednesday Carter turned 5 years old. I can't believe how fast time goes by. Kim made his favorite dinner which consisted of chicken fettuccine Alfredo, homemade french bread, Caesar salad and a yummy chocolate bundt cake.
The party consisted of aunts & uncles, grammie and papa, his mommy and brothers and his little cousin Rebekah. It was a wild and crazy party!

Elder Dailey will baptize two tomorrow

We are so excited for Sean because tomorrow he will be able to baptize two new members into the true church. This will be the first ones that he baptizes. He has had other baptisms but got transferred before the baptisms actually happened.
He said that his goal is to "Find to teach. Teach to baptize. Baptize to seal."

Happy Father's Day

Today is Father's Day! I wanted to make a special blog posting today for my Dad. He is the best dad that anyone could every have or want.
In church today there were three talks given on dads and I found it hard to not be emotional today knowing that my dad is spending Father's Day in the hospital. He has been there nearly a week now and things are getting very serious.
I love him so much and I am so grateful for him and for the wonderful things I have learned from him and for the love that he gives me.

Elder in Minnesota has Whopping Cough

I don't know how but Sean contracted Whopping Cough. Yes he has been immunized for it but apparently one should get a booster every 10 years. Who knew? He is much better now and he never let it stop him. (hopefully he didn't contaminate anyone)
Last week he went to a dinner appointment and they had 4 investigators for them to teach. (that is every missionaries dream and exactly what each of us members should be doing too) So he is teaching those 4 and has a family coming to church that hasn't been in years. They are excited to be back at church and are talking about going to the temple and having their children baptized. The children ages 17 & 18 are excited and want to be baptized.
He spent his p-day this week fishing on the Mississippi River.

No Patrick is not literally on fire but off to a great start for the month of June in finding and teaching. Currently he is teaching a Scottish woman that has come to church and is changing her life. He and his companion also found 2 other new investigators that they are teaching as well.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is almost over for another year. I had such a great day. First today in RS the bishop and counselors planned such a great event. As we walked into the RS room they had a beautiful buffet of fruit, angel food cake, brownie bites, vanilla wafers with melted chocolate in chafing dishes. It was so delicious and then the bishop even taught the lesson. How great was that?
Then Mike and I came home and had our first phone call from Patrick. We had a great time talking with him. I miss him so much. We talked for quite awhile.
Next we had our phone call from Sean and we talked for 45 minutes. It was great to talk to him. I really miss Sean too.
Then our sons came over bearing gifts. Chris & BobbiAnn gave me some beautiful earrings and postage stamps that have Rebekah's photo on them. I will use them for special things.
Amy & Jeff brought a beautiful edible arrangement the Amy made for me. It was huge and delicious. We ate a ton of it but have enough fruit to last the week.
Mike gave me a gift certificate to my favorite spa so I can use it on what I want or need and a beautiful necklace.
My mom gave me the skirt and sweater I wore to church. I love it.
Thank you all so much for my gifts. I love you all.

A New Phase of Life

Well this Monday I will be entering a new phase of my life. It seems so unreal that this could really be happening to me so soon. I feel really strange and happy and sad all at the same time.
Patrick & Sean will be turning 20 years old on Monday. I no longer will have teenagers. My family is growing up so fast. It really seems like 10 years ago that the twins were born. Where did the time go?
I love my family and love the stage that they are in right now.

New Zone Leader for the Dailey Family

We are so proud of our missionaries for all that they are doing to help in the Lord's work. They both had great weeks. Patrick had a baptism last Saturday. He has made a goal for 1 baptism for each month that he is out. Can you believe that it has been 10 months already?
Today Sean was transferred to St. Cloud where a new stake has been formed. The mission president has asked Sean to be the zone leader but he felt that Sean had not finished his work in Brainerd (where he has served for 7 1/2 months). So he included Brainerd in his zone so he can continue to work there.
We are so happy for the growth that he and Patrick have made in these short 10 months.
Only 24 more days until mother's day. You know what happens then.

A snow storm on April 1st left a beautiful site. Sean has been learning and growing so much. He has really learned to follow the spirit.
He has another baptism scheduled for May 3rd but he thinks he will be transferred before then. That same thing happened before where he gets transferred before the baptism. But all that matters is that they actually get baptized, right?

Kim and her friend that volunteer decided to name the babies in the orphanage so that they could talk about them and when each child needs. So she is holding Catherine the little girl that she saved from chocking. She is not doing very well and Kim had her checked out and she now has pneumonia so they moved her to another room where she will get better care. She is enjoying the time that she spends there.

Today Patrick told us that a girl named Laura (who is 15) is being baptized this week. He was especially excited about a part member family that they have been teaching. The wife is a Jehovah's Witness. She came to church last Sunday and she really enjoyed it and told Patrick and Elder Force that she knows the church is true.
Today was p-day and Elder Dailey and Elder Force were touring some castles. What do you think? Pretty sweet huh?

A Car for Elder Sean Dailey

In today's email from Sean he mentioned that they gave him all of Brainerd, MN which had previously been covered by 2 sets of missionaries. He is very happy because now he has double the amount of people to teach. Because of the huge area (it takes a couple of hours each direction to cover the whole area) he was given a car. LOOK OUT Minnesota. Hopefully it will all work out and that he will get some good driving experience. I am just a little (Okay not a little-a lot) nervous.
He was also made the District Leader. My other boys say being a district leader is no big deal. But I think it is because it will give him some leadership skills.

Kim saves baby from dying in China

Kim gives service at an orphanage every Wednesday. Mostly she holds the babies and gives them a bottle . there are many abandon babies in the orphanage especially babies with Cerebral Palsy and down syndrome or just the fact that they are girls.
Yesterday she was feeding one baby a bottle while holding her and holding the bottle under her chin while at the same time she was feeding a baby a bottle while the baby was in the crib. Normally this baby in the crib only gets a bottle with a propped up bottle in his crib. While she was giving this baby the bottle the baby stopped breathing and started turning blue. All this happened so fast. Because she was holding the other baby she couldn't pick up the one in the crib so she screamed for the worker there to help. The worker came over and held the baby upside down and and the baby started to breathe again.
If the bottle had been propped up as usual most likely the baby which was chocking on his mucus would had died. Thankfully she was there.

Sean has had a great week. He has seen many miracles come by faith. He loves the experiences that happen when they pray on a street for the house or houses to knock on and they are guided to those who are searching. Things have really been coming together. He has several that he is working with that know the church is true.
Sean has been having back trouble and the doctor just told him that he has to stay off the bike. It was the bike that was killing his back.
He loves his mission and he bore a great testimony to us.

Elder Dailey in Newton Acliffe

Things in Newton Acliffe have changed drastically since Patrick arrived. This area previously was a very slow area. Patrick and his companion already have two ready to be baptized. They have some others that are very close as well. He said that the mission president keeps calling them and congratulating them on the fine job they are doing.
He said that it has been snowing every day and he loves it. He also mentioned that he will be giving his first talk since he went out in March. He is really nervous about that. (I think it will be good for him and I can't believe this will be the first-he's lucky).

Today our first granddaughter was born at 4:23 am.She is Rebekah Ann Dailey and she is absolutely adorable. She weighs 6#5oz. and she is 20" long. The proud parents are Chris & BobbiAnn.

This week Sean was given a new Greenie for a companion. His name is Elder Grisham and he is from Indiana. Sean says that Elder Grisham is shy like he himself "use to be". He has overcome that since he talks to strangers all day long.
Sean told us in his email what he has learned from all of his companions. Each one has contributed to his success as a missionary. He loves his mission.

"This had been a hard week. We had 4 family's (8 investigators) drop us. They all got anti'd. Seems like someone has been following us around or something because they all called us within 3 days and all had the same questions/ and concerns. I have been pretty sad because they all had felt the spirit. They knew it. They knew the message was true. We are still going to try to work with them."
But good things have happened with his companion and he has made lots of improvements and Sean is so proud of him.

Today Patrick told us that he has 6 new investigators with 5 others that want to be baptized. He said that it has picked up since the holidays for over now. He thinks he will be transferred next week. He has been in the same area his whole mission (over 7 months)

Update on Elder Sean Dailey

We were grateful for the time we had to talk with Sean on Christmas. He was given 45 minutes to talk to his family. It was great to hear his voice. Sean is still serving in Brainerd, MN. He has had weather reach to -40 degrees. It is hard to ride a bike in so much snow.
He believes one of the most important things he has learned on his mission is recognizing the spirit. He has been prompted many times to go to a certain area or to teach a certain principle because he listened to the spirit. This last week they taught 11 lessons. He thinks this is a record for his area.
The other day he found out that the Decora family in his ward is realated to the Lopez family in our Fountain Valley 1st Ward. What a small world we live in.
He has several solid investigators that they are working with now. How exciting!

Update on Elder Patrick Dailey

We had a great conversation with Patrick on Christmas. Talking to our missionaries was really the highlight of our day (month or year too). He is doing well and is still serving in Barnsley, England. He is in a branch of about 40-50 members. Barnsley has lots of rolling green hills. Recently on a p-day he went to the Sherwood Forest (Where Robin Hood is from).
On Christmas he ate turkey, broccoli and Yorkshire pudding and then he ate lots of chocolate. He said that the chocolate there is so good.
Since Christmas he has baptized Jessica Hughes. A single mom with a little boy named Dallas. He has 5 others scheduled for baptism.
We are very proud of Patrick and we are excited for him as he serves the Lord.

This year Kim, Brandon and family will be spending Christmas in China. This will be their first Christmas away from family. They are having a hard time believing that it is Christmas. There are no decorated malls, lights on the houses, or even Christmas music playing anywhere. They are having a ward party on Friday. It will be at a members house and the whole ward comes and they will have dinner and the nativity and play games too. Some of the members will be going to other countries for the holidays.

We went to Disneyland yesterday and met our L.A. friends Rich & Lorie and had a great time. We even ran into my sister Joyce and her son Troy and we all went to the Billie Hill Show together. It is always fun to be there during the Christmas season.

Well Today Patrick informed us that he had the best Thanksgiving dinner that he has ever had in his whole life. They went and had dinner with the American family and they ate pizza and burgers. He said that the only thing he missed was jello. Apparently jello in England is different so he doesn't like it.
He hopes to have a baptism in January. It snows every so often there and it is quite cold. Patrick and Sean have been out 6 months already.

Gone to Maui

I went to Maui on the spur of the moment to be traveling companions for my parents. We had a fun time and kept very busy between my brothers surgery and doctor's appointment and a doctor appointment for my dad to have his stitches taken out from an earlier fall. We looked pretty funny when we would go out. I would be pushing my brother in the wheel chair, my dad would be using his walker or his motorized scooter wheelchair and my mom had her cane. What a site.
Here we all are. I know I look like I had a great sunburn but I think I was having one of my personal heat waves. This photo is me with my parents, my brother Tab and his wife Sina.

Elder Dailey & Elder Dailey

This last week Patrick and his companion decided to look in their binder of investigators and formal investigators and they were inspired to call on Sifilani. They are a family from Zimbabwe. She is again attending church with her 4 children and hopefully will be baptized soon. England if getting cold.
Sean says that he loves snow. Things are working out with his companion who has had problems learning in the past. He is excited for the mission president to see the change.
The night before Sean wrote down a street to go tract in his planner. The next day he decided to change his mind and go somewhere else. He was happy that he did because he found Ron Erich and gave him a Book of Mormon.
He is still reaching Red.

Today we received an email from a woman named Jessika Pippy Hughes with some photos attached. She said that the Elders had been teaching her but currently they aren't (I don't know the reason) but the missionaries still come and visit her. She told me that Patrick is loved by everyone in Barnsley. Of course, I know that isn't true because not everyone has met him yet.
What do you think of his hair? Doesn't he look different?

Another bike wreck for Sean

Sean has had his second bike crash since he has been on his mission. He said that he was doing 'no hands' and on the cell phone and wiped out pretty good. He said that his face was very ugly and bloody and that he ripped a big hole in his brown pants and hurt his shoulder pretty bad.
He is enjoying his companion and his companion is coming along. He has learned a lot in 1 week and the other missionaries noticed a difference.
He is still teaching Red and is teaching 3 families as well and that it is all going very well. One family has 9 children.
I ordered thermals for him 2 weeks ago that he hasn't received yet and it is getting to the point now that he needs them. Hopefully they will arrive shortly.

Prudencia is baptized

Prudencia from Zimbabwe was baptized on November 1, 2008 in Barnsley, England. Her family was baptized earlier this year but she has been attending church for four months now. She loves the hymns and was so excited to be baptized. Patrick said that he planned the baptism and scheduled everything and it was a little stressful for him but that it all turned out great. His mission has a goal for 340 baptisms for the year and they are at 260. He says that he loves missionary work.

The Zinn's at Nanjing

Nanjing use to be the capital of China. Now the capital is Beijing. The reason Nanjing is no longer the capital is because the Japanese massacred the Chinese there and so now it is a monument honoring those that were killed. The boys had a great time looking at the swords and catapults and bones.

Halloween in China

The Zinn's had a fun time in China on their first Halloween. Their branch got together for dinner and trunk or treat. For the first time ever the apartment complex where they live got together for a Halloween celebration too.
Our grandsons were so excited to finally get their costumes that had been ordered long before and shipped to Grandpa Zinn's and they had to wait until Grandpa Zinn came to China to bring the costumes to them. They were so excited to try them on for Grammie to see (well not Isaac).

New Companion for Sean

Today I came home from the gym expecting to find an email from Sean but it hadn't come yet. So I showered and checked again. Again, no email. I kept checking all day until it came about 2:30 PM. Finally!
He explained that he awoke at 3 AM and left the house a 4 AM and headed to Bloomington where the mission home is. He met his new companion Elder Noffsinger who has been out for 6 months. At noon they headed back to Brainerd which takes a good 3 hours.
The mission President told Sean that he had been praying about what to do with Elder Noffsinger and Sean was the answer to his prayer. Elder N. has a learning disability that makes it hard for him to talk to people, to learn the lessons and he is chronically late to everything because he is slow. The president wants Sean to train him and to start all over with him. He said that this will teach him lots of patience.
Sean is nervous but he has been praying for the last few days to be given ideas on how he can help him and he is looking forward to it.
This will be great for Sean.

Subway in Barnsley

Today we had a very short email from Patrick. Yesterday was his p-day and he was sick in bed because of food poisoning that he was given at Subway. He said that he was so sick. It was coming out at both ends. (Sorry for being blunt) The mission president gave then permission to email today since they missed yesterday but he was told to be very brief.
I knew that yesterday was transfer day. We didn't hear from him and the thought came to me that he may be sick. I was surprised to find out today that I was right. He wasn't transferred but he did get a new companion. We don't know his name but he is from Idaho.
It is about 4 Celsius which I know is cold. They are expecting snow this weekend. I remember when we were in London and it was 8 Celsius it was freezing.
I doubt that Patrick will be eating at Subway any time soon.

Elder Sean Dailey

Sean loves missionary work. He says it is so much fun. Sean says he even loves the 1 hour bike ride between appointments when it is 36 degrees and raining. He is asking for thermals and will be purchasing boots and a face mask.
Sean is so excited because this Saturday in Crystal (his old area) two of his investigators will be baptized. I don't think he will be attending but he is very excited for them.
Shauna Kroll one of his current investigators has pushed back her baptism because she has a word of wisdom issue and she wants to make sure that she doesn't fall back into old habits.
He has been teaching Red and he knows the church is true. He plans to be baptized in November. Red has made friends with the members of the ward and seems to fit in really well.
Recently Sean and his companion are going through the former investigator lists and are teaching 2 families.
He is so excited about the work. He says that they have almost doubled their goals for the week and they still have 3 more days to go.

Elder Patrick Dailey

Patrick has been very busy finding, teaching and baptizing. A few weeks ago while walking down the street Elder Dailey and Elder Van Dyke came upon Sally picking up her children's toys in the yard. They asked Sally if they could help her pick them up. After picking up the toys they taught Sally the first discussion. Because of this single act of kindness she allowed them to teach her and she was prepared by the Lord and was baptized on October 11, 2008. Now they have taught her 9 year old daughter and she will be baptized this Saturday, October 25.
That same day an 18 year old girl from Zimbabwe will be baptized as well. She will be the last of her family to be baptized.
Patrick reports that it is getting cold in England.

Isaac in China

Today when Kim called me via Skype she told me about our darling Isaac. Isaac is now 14 months old and does not yet walk nor is he close to walking. Kim was getting ready to take Carter down to catch the bus for preschool so she went to find Isaac. She found him in Mason and Carter's bedroom on top of the ladder leading to Mason's top bunk.
Isn't it amazing that he can't walk and yet he knows what to do to climb the stairs. Kim was shocked and her heart sank but she didn't want to cause a fuss and make him loose his balance and fall on the hardwood floors.
Now the ladder is safely put away.

Elder Dailey in Brainerd this week

Sean is with Elder Richmond in Brainerd. They have changed the way that they talk to people. He said that they look at what people are doing and tie it into the gospel. He said that before a basketball game if he thought they would lose then they would lose. So he has a positive attitude and changed their views on things and everything has turned around. They had 2 investigators at church on Sunday. He almost seemed like he was apologizing for only having 2 there. But I know in his last area they had more like 7-9 a week. I think 2 investigators at church is really good. I know from listening to the elders here that many times they never show up for church.
He loves missionary work and loves working hard because he recognizes blessings that come from it.
It has started to get cold. It is in the low 50's. They expect snow this month. He is getting prepared for the weather to come.
He is doing great and we love to hear about his experiences.

Patrick in Barnsley

The work in Barnsley is going great right now. Elder Dailey and Elder Van Dyke were taken out to a steak restaurant by the MP and his wife because they broke the record of baptisms set. They have been planning more effectively and it shows.
He is very excited for conference this weekend. It is a delayed broadcast and he will be able to see two sessions in all. He will see the Priesthood session and one other session. I think that this will be the first time that he actually stays awake to watch it.
When Mike and I went to London 4 years ago we brought back Patrick a tie that had double decker bus's on it. He said that the English people there love his tie. It is really ironic that Patrick is the only one that we gave an English tie too and he ended up going there on his mission.
He is really doing well and we are so proud of him.

Our Missionary in Brainerd

We received a great letter from Sean this week. He said that when he arrived in Brainerd they didn't have any investigators or even possible investigators. At first he felt a little discouraged but had a turn around when he realized that he wouldn't have been sent there if there wasn't someone for him to teach. He has 3 solid investigators now that they are working with and find new ones each day. He has learned that an area is only as successful as the mindset of the missionary. Now he has people approaching him. He said that he and his companion are seeing miracles because of their faith.
Mike and I both cried as we read his letter this week. He is really blessed and we are blessed because of their service.

We are having a GIRL

After 3 beautiful grandsons, we are having a granddaughter. Chris & BobbiAnn are having a girl. The due date is February 6, 2009 and her name will be Rebekah Ann Dailey. We are thrilled!!!

Patrick driving in England Watch Out

In Patrick's email today he told us that he is going to be having a two hour driving course. Can you believe that he only needs a two hour course to be able to drive on the wrong side of the road and from the wrong side of the car while shifting from his left hand? It sounds really hard to me. Just walking across the street there can be dangerous if you are use to looking the other way.
He seems to be doing very well over there. He and Elder Van Dyke have 7 baptisms scheduled for October 11-18. I hope it all turns out well for their investigators and that it all happens as planned.

OUR FIRST TRANSFER

Today Sean was transferred to Brainerd, MN. It is in the Duluth Stake. It is the furthest north you can be and still be on a bicycle. Before he left for his mission he said that he wanted to go to Duluth because it is supposed to be the coldest place in the United States. He got his wish! He said he is excited. We will see how he feels in about 3 months.
He was sad to leave Crystal because he had 3 baptisms scheduled for October 11. He said that the night before the transfer he went to say goodbye to Eddy and Eddy thanked him for finding him. It made Sean feel really good. Eddy is one that is scheduled for October 11. Sean said that he loves his mission and that he is really doing great.
We are so proud of our missionaries and and love them to pieces.

In Patrick's email this week he mentioned again that it has been raining quite a bit. His shoes don't seem to dry out and has ruined a pair of good shoes. But in spite of the rain he has been working hard. He is in a walking area so they either walk or take a train or a bus. He and Elder Van Dyke have 3 more baptisms scheduled. He said the work is really good here.

Bowers Museum Display of Terracotta Warriors

Here we are with this amazing warrior. The display they have at this museum is just a tiny part of what they found in China. The whole discovery in China has 7,000 warriors. This discovery was made in 1974. The Bowers has the largest display outside of China. Actually this warrior was a real person. That is the only reason we were able to touch him.

Today Mike and I went to the Bowers Museum to view the Terracotta Warriors that are on display from China. It was really interesting and I recommend that you see them too. It is truly an amazing display.

Elder Dailey in MN

This week in Sean's email he said that they are teaching lots of solid investigators. He also received this week his very first member referral. He was very grateful for that referral.
Sean says that his bike has had some troubles and he will need a new wheel in 1000 miles. He puts about 40 miles a day on his bike and he is getting into shape.
Every Monday Elder Dailey and Elder Brown go to the local convalescent home and play bingo with the patrons there.
It has cooled down to 53 - 60 degrees during the day. Soon we will have to send him his winter sweater and jacket.
He is loving MN and his mission.
